Welcome to the Department of Maritime Safety & Environmental Administration at FUTD. Our department occupies a unique and vital space in Nigeria's transport education landscape — one dedicated entirely to the safety of lives at sea, waterways, and the protection of our marine environment.

We produce specialists in maritime safety regulation, search and rescue operations, oil spill response, waterway traffic management, and environmental impact assessment. Our graduates serve in regulatory bodies such as NIMASA, the Nigerian Ports Authority, and international maritime organisations worldwide.
